Portfolio: Large And Beautiful Home In Mead, WA
Here is a home we shot back in January, and it was a beautiful home that is also an example of some of the difficulties photographing a home in the wintertime. What I liked about this home was the large and connected main floor. In particular, I really liked the first living room by the entrance. The large windows and tall ceilings make the space feel big, and the high amount of sunlight coupled with the fact there isn’t a TV, makes it a nice and relaxing space where you can read a book or have good conversation with friends or family.

This fell into our Mid-Range home category (sold between 400-700k) so we include more photos than normal and spend a bit more time editing per-photo. Often-times, the more expensive the home, the more important the phoo quality it, because the pool of potential buyers is smaller. This is why in the winter, it often takes a bit more work to get homes to look their best, especially the exteriors.

Unfortunately, homes just aren’t going to look as great in the winter as they do in spring, summer, and part of fall. Plants are dead and brown, the sky is more often overcast, and snow basically acts as an eraser, taking out features/objects and their colors. So especially for exteriors, we like to add more contrast and saturation to help the home and property pop, as well as spending more time taking out unnatural color cast from the snow and fixing colors.

In the end, wintertime or undesired weather won’t make your home unsellable, and a quality real estate photographer can make your home desirable to potential buyers. If you’re in need of real estate media for your home, order online with us today and we’ll make your home and property look its best!
